Step 1

Step 1: Needs Analysis

ASi works with customer to determine perceived and true identifiable needs.  ASi develops a technology strategy based on the business requirements:

  • Proactive maintenance and support
  • Long term planning to meet growth needs
  • Faster response time to problem resolution
  • Voice Mail
  • Better visibility of communications
  • Web presence
  • Relocation plan
  • Customer was vulnerable to hackers, viruses, and internal security threats

Step 2

Step 2: Solution Planning
ASi assesses the existing environment with various tools and meets with company leaders to determine current environment and strategic company goals.  In this case it was determined that the existing technology infrastructure would not support the immediate and future needs of the company.  ASi develops a strategy for an infrastructure upgrade in coordination with the company relocation.

Step 3

Step 3: Design Engineering
  • ASi designs a detailed solution, implementation, and migration plan.
  • Wire and cable of new facility using Cat6 Plenum Cable with two drops to all desktop locations, conference rooms, warehouse, and printer/fax locations.
  • 19” Telecommunications rack to house switches, phone system, and two application servers (actual picture shown above).
  • Battery back up for power failures.
  • Firewall with Spam Filter and Content Filter
  • Power Over Ethernet Switch to power warehouse cameras and VOIP telephones.
  • VOIP business telephone with ACD for increased call volumes, Voice Mail and offsite notification for after hour response and seamless field worker communications.
  • T1 from Time Warner Communications for 12 voice lines and flex internet access.
  • Corporate AntiVirus for servers and desktops.
  • Desktop replacement strategy.
  • New Server with redundant drives and tape back up.

Step 4

Step 4: Installation, Implementation, Testing, and Training

ASi set a project plan, then installed and implemented the following solutions:

  • Chatsworth Rack using AMP, Panduit, Geist PDU, APC UPS, and Mohawk to install the physical infrastructure.
  • Implemented a Firewall with software to keep spam out and internal users from using the web in non-business related ways.
  • Installed Light Weight Access Points for wireless connectivity to the web for visitors.
  • 24 Port X 2 Power Over Ethernet Managed Network Switches, enabling network management and bandwidth visibility.  Also, the switches are configured with VLANS and QOS to separate and prioritize voice traffic over the network.
  • Coordinated with Telco on installation and implementation of voice and data at the new location.  Cross connected Telco to customer equipment.
  • Implemented a VOIP telephone system with advanced features (too many to list here).
  • Implemented Anti Virus, Back Up and recovery policies.
  • Implemented a new Dell Server with 2003 with disk mirroring and raid 5 disk protection, and set up user and data security, monitoring, and data back up.
  • Tested the new solution and trained staff on daily operations and use.

Step 5

Step 5: System Administration and Operation
ASi continues to manage and monitor the solution with proactive maintenance and support.  The environment is monitored 24 hours a day and ASi support the customer remotely and on site.  ASi continues to work with the customer to make sure the solutions are keeping pace with their ever changing business needs.
